CATHY-ANNE MCCLINTOCK KICKS OFF 2011
OPENING FOR FAMED GUITARIST DAVID LINDLEY
AT THE BRIXTON SOUTH BAY ON JANUARY 7

Recently named Musical Group of the Year at the 2010 Los Angeles Music Awards and named one of Music Connection magazine’s Hot 100 Unsigned Bands & Artists of the year, 37 Records folk/americana/country singer-songwriter Cathy-Anne McClintock will kick-off 2011 with a performance with famed guitarist David Lindley at The Brixton South Bay in Redondo Beach, Calif., on January 7.

Doors open at 7 p.m., with McClintock opening the show at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20 and are available for purchase online at www.cathyannemcclintock.com. The show is 21+ only.

2010 has been an exciting year for McClintock with award nominations for Americana Blues Roots Artist of the Year and Americana Blues Roots Single Of The Year for her hit single “I Wanna Live Like That,” for Best Folk/Acoustic Song for “I Wanna Live Like That” at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards, and for Bluegrass Inspirational Song of the Year for “I Wanna Live Like That” alongside Ricky Skaggs and Ronda Vincent at the Inspirational Country Music Awards in Nashville.

Music Connection has also selected their review of her self-titled debut album as one of their Top 25 New Music Critiques of 2010 and will rerun in the December 2010 issue, along with the Hot 100 honor.

Since moving to Southern California to focus on her solo career several years ago, she established herself as a formidable performer with gigs at hotspots like House of Blues, The Canyon Club, The Brixton, Hermosa Beach Series, Genghis Cohen, The Mint, Kulaks, Hallenbecks and various special events, including Laguna Beach’s Pageant of the Masters, Sunset Serenade Series, Far West Folk Alliance, Canadian Music Week, Hermosa Beach Concert Series and the popular folk series The Living Tradition. At a particularly memorable gig at the House of Blues on Sunset, she opened for Canadian Celtic rockers Great Big Sea for an audience comprised of fellow Canadians; one of the highlights was Russell Crowe sitting in and singing a few Johnny Cash tunes with the band.

McClintock’s emergence as a solo artist is simply the latest triumph in a career that would make anyone want to “live like that.” Shortly after the Vancouver born and raised performer and her older sister Trisha Gagnon formed their bluegrass band Tumbleweed in the 90s, they played their first show on a slate in British Columbia with superstars Dolly Parton and Dwight Yoakam at Music 91, a government sponsored road show designed to boost tourism.

37 Records features music ranging from singer-songwriters, children’s works, pop and rock, alternative modern rock, holiday music, jazz and R & B, country and bluegrass, dance pop, rootsy Americana to soundtracks. Its digital product is available in 35 different countries on over 120 separate websites… all leading back 37 Records.

The 37 Records roster consist of White Apple Tree, Brian Stoner, Friends of Emmet, Melody Zephyr, Nikki Forova, Cathy-Anne McClintock, Judy Akin, Cris Barber, Fertitta and McClintock, Tom Templeman, Mindwalk, Tumbleweed, Haley Breedlove, Kristen Trayer, Don McClintock, and Steven McClintock.

37 RECORDS’ FRIENDS OF EMMET
DEBUTS ‘COMING APART’
AND CELEBRATES AT LA’S INFAMOUS
VIPER ROOM ON SEPTEMBER 16

***

The Band’s New Single and Title Track From ‘Coming Apart’
Is Inspired By The Story Of Kevin Hines Who Miraculously Survived Jumping From The Golden Gate Bridge

Dublin, Ireland’s indie rock band Friends Of Emmet (F.O.E) signed to innovative indie label 37 Records for a worldwide digital distribution deal to assist in debuting the band’s heartfelt project Coming Apart. On Thursday, September 16 F.O.E and 37 Records will celebrate the raved reviewed album at Los Angeles’ popular venue, The Viper Roomfrom 7:30-9 p.m. Guests who RSVP will receive a free F.O.E Coming Apart CD, plus the band will give a stellar 45 minute live performance. To RSVP for this spectacular event contact tasya@luckmedia.com. The first 20 guests, who RSVP to the Viper Room showcase, will also be invited to attend an intimate party for the band held at Swing House inL.A. on Thursday, September 23.

The title track to F.O.E’s album “Coming Apart” is a tribute to Kevin Hines, who attempted suicide at the age of 19 and survived jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge. F.O.E felt strongly about Hines’ story and was passionate enough to create the song. Hines survived the suicide plunge from 245 feet above the water and is now an advocate for the building the bridge’s barriers or net prevention system, which will cost the city of San Francisco nearly 45-50 million dollars to create. Hines is a rare case of survival considering most jumpers die upon immediate impact, usually hitting the water at speeds in excess of 70 mph, which is often compared to hitting concrete. The few survivors of the impact either drown or die from hypothermia.

The music video released for “Coming Apart” features Hines, who watches over an emotionally depressed young woman contemplating suicide. The video is a powerful message showing the viewer an attempted suicide in hopes to give support to those who feel they have no way out. Hines will also be telling his story on CBS Sunday Morning comeSeptember 12, along with the CBS program showing F.O.E’s “Coming Apart” music video.

With all the suicide awareness F.O.E is creating, Suicide Prevention Lifeline and Save.org are supporting the band’s track “Coming Apart” and have added their own logos and help lines at the end of the music video to aid F.O.E.’s message. Yahoo.com is also showing the music video and a special taped acoustic performance by F.O.E that recently happened at Yahoo’s studios in Santa Monica.
The new album is packed with raw emotional tracks, touching on the singer’s insight of human nature and of her life journey thus far.

The inspiration for this expressive album can trace back to Forova’s background growing up in Russia with the harsh reality of the Soviet regime. By the time she was seven years-old she was composing songs, giving her a creative outlet at a young age, as a way to overcome the communist society she was living in.

Forova came to America with aspirations to peruse an education and a music career. After graduating with a degree in Music Composition, she began playing her compositions and songs at venues in Los Angeles and the Inland Empire areas to build a fan base. Forova’s first break came after she won MTV’s Duets, a national competition, for a chance to perform with Grammy nominated artist Vanessa Carlton.

Forova recently completed her successful first tour throughout Europe. Her authenticity and extraordinary performances captivated fans’ hearts in Paris, Munich, Frankfurt, Helsinki, Milano and other cities. With the release of “Revving Wings,” she will embark on a U.S. major city tour by July of this year.

37 Records features music ranging from singer/songwriters, children’s works, pop and rock, alternative modern rock, holiday music, jazz and R & B, country and bluegrass, rootsy americana to soundtracks, therefore,37 Records’ current roster consist of White Apple Tree, Brian Stoner, Friends of Emmet, Nikki Forova, Cathy-Anne McClintock, Judy Akin, Cris Barber, Fertitta and McClintock, Tom Templeman, Mindwalk, Tumbleweed, Haley Breedlove, Brett Daniels, Kristen Trayer, Don McClintock, Christian Bradley, Melody Zephyr and Steven McClintock.
“I’m excited about this and honored to be nominated in this category. I loved making this record with some of the finest players in the world…so glad that they are getting recognized too!” says McClintock.
