Lorrie made a rare in-store appearance at the Wal-Mart (#710) in Hermitage, Tennessee to greet music fans and sign their copies of The Color of Roses. Unbeknownst to Morgan, Wal-Mart had proclaimed her “Honorary Associate of the Month” for the occasion and presented her with a commemorative plaque, not to mention an official blue Wal-Mart employee vest complete with a “Lorrie” name-tag.

The Color of Roses, Lorrie Morgan’s first ever live concert recording, just released to great acclaim recently by Image Entertainment on DVD, VHS and a double disc CD and audiocassette, will be featured by Direct TV as their Free View Concert in April. The Color of Roses concert will run every weekend in April starting Fridays at 6 a.m. until 6 a.m. each of the following Mondays. The first weekend of Free View Concerts for Lorrie Morgan will start this Friday April 5th.

Morgan says, “For years I’ve been wanting to offer a live concert recording, and I never really had the opportunity. This just felt like the right time to do it. All the pieces just fell into place.”

The Color of Roses concert boasts Morgan’s brilliant performance at Nashville’s Tennessee Performing Arts Center with a full orchestra. In addition, Charles Callelo, one of the original Four Seasons, was Morgan’s musical director for this multi-hued concert extravaganza. The event was directed by Don Carr.

Though Image Entertainment, long recognized as the market leader in music video long form and DVD, has an extensive catalogue of nearly 1800 DVD titles with 400-plus that are music-related across the entire range of genres, this is only the second time that the worldwide licensing, distribution and production company has ventured into the compact disc arena with a country music artist. The first was earlier in 2001 with Randy Travis Live, which, as with Morgan, was also released on DVD and VHS. Image Entertainment, however, has released an audio-only component in several other genres.
