One-Eyed Doll and the popular online animation game AdventureQuest WORLDS  (AQW) have teamed up once again! On Friday, August 13 starting at 6 p.m. ET, AQW will host a live viral gaming event at www.aq.com for their 15 million + users, while revealing One-Eyed Doll’s latest news! This event is open to members of AQW, which any newcomer can “name your own price” to quickly gain an AQW membership.

AQW and One-Eyed Doll’s frontwoman Kimberly Freeman and drummer-producer Jason Rufuss Sewell, AKA “Junior,” began to collaborate together on numerous music and gaming projects. AQW took the band’s hard rock concept and Freeman’s wild stage persona designing them their own animation characters. Freeman is like a mixed-up Strawberry Shortcake taking a wrong turn and ending up in Tim Burton’s infamous movie, Nightmare Before Christmas, creating the illusion of the unpredictable. AQW will further capture this illusion and will also construct an animation music video for the band’s next project, which is slated for winter 2011.

On Labor Day weekend (September 3-6) One-Eyed Doll and AQW will take on, Dragon*Con in Atlanta, the Universe’s largest multi-media and popular culture convention. The convention focuses on science fiction and fantasy, gaming, comics, literature, art, music, and film. The band will reveal never-before-performed music, as well as raw material from their current album, Break at AQW’s event sponsored by Sony.

One-Eyed Doll continues to take their stage swagger on the road. Catch the band performing on Sunday, August 15 with well-known artist In This Moment at Scout Bar in San Antonio, TX for the Lamb Of God after party. On Saturday, August 28 One-Eyed Doll will take charge at Emo’s in their home turf of Austin, TX with Mondo Generator, featuring Nick Oliveri of the major rock band Queens of the Stone Age. Kicking the venue doors down this fall, the rockers will showcase on Sunday, September 26 in Houston, TX at The Scout Bar for Texas Buzz 94.5 FM’s The Buzz Sunday showcase. Plus, One Eyed-Doll will grace Lafayette, La. on October 1 at Grant Street Dance Hall. The band will get rowdy on October 2 in New Orleans, La. at Checkpoint Charlies for a free show performing multiple sets of original material from 9pm-2am.

Sporting a cowboy hat, ragged fairytale dress, striped long-leg tights and lace-up mega boots, One-Eyed Doll’s front woman Kimberly Freeman, is a wild-eyed presence even before she belts out a note. As soon as Freeman unleashes her voice on stage it’s combined by slashing, pulling and hammering on her guitar. Freeman’s on-stage persona is a mixed- up Strawberry Shortcake taking a wrong turn and ending up in Tim Burton’s infamous movie, “Nightmare Before Christmas,” creating the illusion of the unpredictable. That personality can be found throughout the band’s latest album, Break, which as with past releases, is innovatively offered to fans as a “name your price” to download the album for $10, $.50 or even free.

Named the #1 rock band in Austin, TX  by Reverb Nation, One-Eyed Doll swept the SXSW Music Awards two years in a row (2009-2010) in numerous categories. The band has appeared in Guitar World magazine, toured nationally with their eye-popping and ear-bending performances, and has also found a devoted flock at major animation and comic conventions.

At One-Eyed Doll’s core is Freeman and drummer-producer Jason Rufuss Sewell, AKA “Junior.” The pair has worked together in the studio since 2006, Junior taking the drum throne in late 2009. Break follows two previous albums, Hole and Monster along with Freeman’s atmospheric Sleep.

Break’s lead track “Airplane Man” was inspired by a bodybuilder friend who had “wings” of his own. Freeman calls the catchy and rocking “Beautiful Freak,” a slice of candy-feel pop, like the music she often heard in China. The theme of murder as metaphor surfaces in two songs, “Murder Ballad” and “Murder Suicide,” while “Cinderblock” is a child abuse story about a young child with an alcoholic father. “New Orleans” comes from an unfortunate and horrifying incident of racial violence witnessed in the Big Easy and “Resurrection” is a tale of young love, death and hope that sadly never comes.
