OF HIS POWERFUL NEW SINGLE ‘I WISH THAT WAS ME’
FEATURING GRAMMY-NOMINATED SAXOPHONE SUPERSTAR DAVE KOZ
AND WRITTEN BY MUSICAL MASTERMIND DAVID TAYLOR II

Chicago-based emerging artist Richard Kincaid heats things up in 2013 with his new single “I Wish That Was Me” featuring the soothing saxophone sounds by Grammy-nominated icon Dave Koz. The tracks is set to hit FMQB’s Adult Contemporary Chart January 14 and added to MediabaseJanuary 28.

Kincaid says, “If you’ve ever loved someone that didn’t love you back, this song is for you!” The powerful track is written by multi-talented songwriter/producer David Taylor II, who collaborated with Kincaid on his recently released full-length independent debut album Mosaic.

“From literally the first moment I heard Richard Kincaid sing, I knew he had a real gift,” praises Taylor. “In 2012, I’ve had incalculable amounts of fun stretching my songwriting muscles in providing material for him; in 2013, we want the world to take note of one of the most intriguing vocal artists to come along in quite some time.”

Kincaid lit up the charts this past holiday season with his single “This Christmas (*Mistletoe)”—an R&B-driven remake of Donny Hathaway’s Christmas classic. The feel-good song was a top track onSounds of Christmas–-an online Christmas station drawing more than 5 million listeners. It also held in the Top 20 Mediabase Adult Contemporary Christmas Chart for four straight weeks.

The holiday track, which features vocals by Cuba Gooding, Sr. of the famed soul group The Main Ingredient, also held in the Top 20 on the main Mediabase AC Chart for several weeks putting Kincaid as the only independent artist in company with music superstars on the chart such as Rod Stewart, Colbie Caillat, Lady Antebellum, Michael Bublé, Cee Lo Green, Richard Marx and Train.

Kincaid was the very first independent artist of 2012 to crack the Top Ten of the FMQB AC40 Chart with his version of Bill Withers’ “Ain’t No Sunshine.” He followed that by hitting the #1 Most Added List on the FMQB AC Add Board with an original song, “Wonderful Day.”

Both songs appear on Mosaic, which includes eight powerfully produced cover songs (from a rousing gospel-tinged version Elton John‘s “Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me” to “Tracks of My Tears”), plus four original tracks by his multi-talented songwriter/ producer, David Taylor II. The album was released on Taylor’s House of DT Records label. Behind-the-scenes footage can be viewed by clicking here.

Apart from pursuing his music career, the singing sensation also embraces his philanthropic side as creator of the BeCause Foundation, a non-profit organization that combines documentary films and outreach campaigns and tackles such hot button issues as homelessness and healthcare, human rights in East Burma, sexual abuse of children and bullying. The foundation partnered with the creators and producers of the poignant (and controversial) film “Bully” which offers insight into the cruel world of the lives of bullied children. It was released nationally by The Weinstein Company last March.

Kincaid’s forthcoming sophomore album Mosaic features eight powerfully produced cover songs (from a rousing gospel-tinged version Elton John‘s “Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me” to “Tracks of My Tears”), plus four original tracks by his multi-talented musical partner David Taylor II. The album is set for release on Taylor’s House of DT Records label this spring.

In addition to pursing his music career, Kincaid has also embraced his philanthropic side, founding the BeCause Foundation, a non-profit organization that combines documentary films and outreach campaigns and tackles such hot button issues as homelessness and healthcare, human rights in East Burma, sexual abuse of children and bullying. The foundation has partnered with the creators and producers of the poignant new film “Bully” which offers insight into the cruel world of the lives of bullied children, and is set for national release by The Weinstein Company on March 30, 2012.
