SANDY HACKETT’S RAT PACK LAS VEGAS’ MAYOR OSCAR B. GOODMAN The Mayor of Las Vegas, Oscar B. Goodman, officially declared Wednesday, May 26 as “Sandy Hackett’s Rat Pack Day” in a proclamation ceremony at his office inside City Hall where he presented cast members Sandy Hackett (Joey Bishop), Lisa Dawn Miller (Frank’s ‘One Love’), David DeCosta (Frank Sinatra) and Tony Basile (Dean Martin) the official document. In true Rat Pack style, the gang presented Mayor Goodman with a special ‘Sandy Hackett’s Rat Pack’ fedora and martini glasses, raising a toast to him as the title of Honorary Rat Pack Member. Click here for a behind-the-scenes look at the presentation. “Sandy Hackett’s Rat Pack Show” is produced by Sandy Hackett, a powerhouse veteran writer/producer/actor and son of legendary comedian Buddy Hackett, along with his wife, producer/singer/songwriter Lisa Dawn Miller, daughter of legendary songwriter, Ron Miller. The only of its kind on the Vegas Strip, Sandy Hackett’s Rat Pack Show debuted in November 2009 and runs 5 p.m. performances Tuesday – Saturday at The Sahara Hotel & Casino’s Main Showroom. Sandy’s history at the Sahara extends back to the age of 15, when he was a cook’s helper and his dad headlined the showroom. For 12 years, he produced and hosted Sandy Hackett’s Talent Showcase in the hotel’s Casbar Lounge, which helped shine a spotlight on numerous rising stars over the years, including Howie Mandel, Andrew Dice Clay, Jenny Jones, Tony D’Andrea, The Unknown Comic, and Gary Mule Deer. Friends, Frank, Sammy, Joey And Dean
The only of its kind on the Vegas Strip, “Sandy Hackett’s Rat Pack Show” will make its debut on Thursday, November 19 at the Sahara Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, offering a fresh and exciting take on the comedic and musical legacy of the Rat Pack. The show, offering nightly performances at 7 p.m., is produced by Sandy Hackett, a powerhouse veteran writer/producer/actor and son of legendary comedian Buddy Hackett, along with his wife, producer/singer/songwriter Lisa Dawn Miller.
Along with Sandy Hackett in the role of Joey Bishop, the producers announced its stellar cast today with the role of Frank Sinatra being portrayed by the incomparable David DeCosta. The mega talented Doug Starks will play Sammy Davis, Jr. and newcomer Tony Basile will portray the role of Dean Martin. Buddy Hackett himself is the voice of God, thanks to a voiceover recorded before he passed. Music Director Chris Hardin leads the show’s fine tuned orchestra, and collaborated with the creative team along with Director Billy Karl, Technical Director Mark Matson, Director of Development, Jeanne Quinn, and Producers, Sandy Hackett and Lisa Dawn Miller.
Sandy Hackett, who hung out with the “Pack” during their heyday as a result of Buddy’s great friendship with them, starred as Bishop—who he knew fondly as “Uncle Joey”—for several years in “The Tribute To Frank, Sammy, Joey and Dean” at The Greek Isles Hotel, later titled “The Rat Pack is Back” at The Plaza Hotel & Casino.
Over the years, the former show, which Sandy also wrote, produced and directed, had performances in dozens of cities throughout the U.S. under both of the previously mentioned titles. “The Rat Pack is Back” show made its Vegas debut in the late 90s in the Congo Room. Hackett’s new show brings the legacy of the Rat Pack, and his beloved father, full circle.”
