The Emerging Folk-Rocker Sells Out Her EP Release Show
at Club Passim in Boston

New England-based folk-rock singer/songwriter Sierra West (www.sierrarocks.com ^[4]) is gearing up for the official release of her second EP, Hold Your Fire, which has snagged a coveted spot on this week’s AOL Music CD Listening Party ^[5], where fans can listen to the entire EP for free. The debut puts her in company with notable acts such as Yellowcard and Kottonmouth Kings.

The EP release is being celebrated with a sold-out show at one of Boston’s most respected music venues, Club Passim (formerly Club 47), on August 14, 2012.  Lloyd Thayer, who also featured on Sierra’s previous EP Rocks, will open the evening.

Hold Your Fire, produced by drummer/producer Lorne Entress at Signature Sounds studio in Connecticut, is being released via Sierra’s label 21 Monkeys. Three of the five songs on the EP were penned by Sierra at one of the “Writing It Up In The Garden” artist retreats hosted several times a year by Nerissa Nields, a member of the folk band The Nields.

The singer performs regularly to raise money for Right Turn (www.right-turn.org), an innovative, Arlington, Mass. based program that offers intensive outpatient and residential treatment services in a uniquely creative environment and Helping Hands (www.monkeyhelpers.org), the only non-profit organization in the world that raises and trains capuchin monkeys to provide in home assistance to people living with spinal cord injury or other mobility impairments, inspiring the name of Sierra’s publishing company, 21 Monkeys Music.
