Fresh from conquering Reno and most recently Las Vegas, GREG LONDON (www.gregorylondon.com) is ready to rock Los Angeles as the main host of the 2012 Hollywood Music in Media Awards (HMMA), set for Thursday, November 15 at the Fonda Theater in Hollywood. The event will be shot in HD for internet and cable broadcast.

The powerhouse vocalist, recording artist and master musical impressionist is a renowned presence at the HMMAs, winning Best Adult Contemporary Song (“Everything I Own”) in 2009 and receiving a nomination in the same category for his original tune “Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself” in 2011.

“I’m very excited and honored to be asked to host the HMMAs, which have been a very important part of my life and career these past few years,” says London. “The opportunity to do so truly means I have come full circle. I’ve had the opportunity to perform in London’s West End, achieve my dream of being a headliner in Vegas and now return to Los Angeles, where I can jump start my recording career after a little time away.”

London continues, “What I like about being the host of the show and not simply a guest host is the challenge of bringing a smoothness and seamlessness to the awards ceremony, while adding some entertainment value between awards and performances. I’m good at keeping things interesting, and that is my goal in hosting the show this year.”

London assumes his duties during a unique and exciting transitional time in his career. After three years receiving rave reviews (and designation by Nevada Magazine as “Entertainer of the Year” in 2011) for his “Greg London’s ICONS” show the Las Vegas Hilton (which has since been renamed the LVH – Las Vegas Hotel), he chose not to renew his contract. Since May, the multi-talented entertainer has performed at private events everywhere from Los Angeles to Paris (he owns a castle in Bordeaux!) and headlined on Norwegian Gem and Norwegian Dawn, two crown jewels of the Norwegian Cruise Line fleet. London also is endorsed by MAC Cosmetics, as he uses their products to visually perfect his master impressions.

As London contemplates his next big career move, he is enjoying the opportunity to headline in onboard showrooms whose ensembles include big horn sections that bring him back to his musical roots as a trumpet player.

In addition to performing a show that blends “singing as Greg” with a segment featuring his trademark musical impressions (Rod Stewart, Ozzy Osbourne, Johnny Cash, etc.), London’s “artist in residence” status with Norwegian Cruise Line includes the opportunity to do meet and greets and host talks for fans each week. Performing for the first time in years with a brass section has inspired some new creative directions for London as a recording artist, and he is currently connecting with various arrangers and collaborators to help create a “style that’s more old school with a cutting edge—and with a blazing horn section.”

London’s Las Vegas show took his former show “ICONMAN” and refashioned it as a dynamic culmination of his long and incredible journey, where a man in his youth hears a singular guitar and heads out on his own Hero’s Journey. The ever-developing concept (presented as “chapters” with each new imagining) was created by London and written in the classic literary format of “The Hero’s Journey,” with theater director David Taylor (“Cats”) and London playwright Paul Miller.

At the end of 2009 London garnered a “Best Impersonation” credit by Rolling Stone Contributing Editor David Wild, in The Huffington Post for his spot-on take of Ozzy Osbourne performing a duet with Kermit The Frog. In 2009, Greg London’s “ICONMAN” was voted “Best Show of Northern Nevada” by Nevada Magazine. The Asian Times London proclaimed The ICONS (the original version of the show in London) as “The West End’s First Smash of 2007.” The Sacramento Bee called it “The Show of the Year” for 2007-2008.

As a recording artist, the singer’s version of “Everything I Own” was the highest charting new artist release and highest charting release on an independent label (airplay charts) of 2009. London scored back to back Top 5 singles on the FMQB Adult Contemporary Radio Chart with covers of Bread‘s “Everything I Own” and Little River Band‘s “Cool Change.” London also made Music Connection Magazine‘s list of Hot 100 Artists of 2009.

In 2008, he appeared in the independent film “The Dukes,” playing a member of a washed up doo-wop group that turns, comically, to a life of crime. His cohorts are Chazz Palminteri, two time Academy Award nominee Peter Bogdanovich and renowned character actor Robert Davi (“Die Hard,” “Profiler”), who wrote, directed and co-produced the film.

“I’ve been writing a lot of new songs lately, and definitely want to start recording again and see where that takes me next,” says London. “For now, I’m happy living a great life, doing private functions and feeling like an island in the middle of the ocean, bringing joy to people I otherwise would never have had the opportunity to meet. I’m a believer in God and the Universe and have faith that everything will work out the way it is supposed to for me. I’m excited about the opportunities heading my way, beginning with hosting the HMMAs next month.”

In July 2009, Greg London’s ICONMAN was voted Best Show of Northern Nevada. The comedy rock stylized show is an episodic satire musical that mixes numerous genres, both lampooning and creating parodies of iconic artists while blending in original satire. In its original run on the West End, The ICONS In London was presented as a “Las Vegas Extravaganza.” Its lengthy run in Reno as ICONMAN fashioned London as a musical-comic superhero saving the world one impression at a time; its other concept was “James Bond comes to Reno,” based on the oft-told story about London’s long ago audition to become the next 007. When London was in the midst of an explosive career as a corporate entertainer helping boost the stock of General Electric and hundreds of other companies, he auditioned to play the legendary spy. He ultimately lost out to Timothy Dalton, a Bond two flick wonder.

London—whose show some call a modern rock version of “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty”–keeps making history, night after night, in a show with no creative limits. But don’t just take our word for it. The Asian Times London proclaimed The ICONS in London as “The West End’s First Smash of 2007.” The Sacramento Bee called it “The Show of the Year” for 2007-2008. Veteran talent manager Ken Kragen adds, “Greg has marvelous and universal talent.” Music has been a part of London’s life from a very early age. As a child, he played the trumpet with his grandfather in the Salvation Army’s local brass band, and later played first chair trumpet in the California Youth Symphony. The godson of English trumpeter Ronnie Hunt, whose claims to fame include the Coronation Street signature tune, London taught himself to play several musical instruments, and regularly performs the trumpet, guitar, piano, harmonica and percussion instruments in his shows.

While London is a breakthrough artist to today’s fans of adult contemporary music, his single is actually an exciting extension of a recording career he originally launched with the 1979 release of Alive Again in Santa Cruz, which sold thousands of units through East Records in Tokyo. Earlier this decade, London also recorded Song of America, a CD of American patriotic music, which led to a two year tour singing for American troops.

Beyond the stage and recording studio, London and his wife and manager Monika are deeply involved in a wide variety of children related charities, including the Children’s Miracle Network (CMN), Make-A-Wish Foundation, The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, Children’s Cancer Society (a division of the American Cancer Society), the Laguna Seca Raceway Soroptimist (which supports children through CASA, Adoption, cystic fibrosis and Ronald McDonald House), PANCAN Pancreatic Cancer Research and The V Foundation (Jimmy Valvano Foundation for cancer research).

Their teenaged daughter Jessika is an inspiration to both of them. Born without one of her hands, she has overcome numerous physical obstacles to become one of the best Grand Prix equestrian jumpers in France, where the Londons have a home. The same day London received his early raves for ICONS by the Asian Times London, Jessika won a premiere jumping competition at Bordeaux; Greg called her his representative of courage. Jessika and her 16-year-old brother Jason are also talented singers and actors. It’s the genetic lottery—it’s hard not to be so diversely gifted when your dad plays 35 globally famous ICONS every night.

“No matter where ICONS takes me in the world, I always want to be somewhere where I’m out there having a great time doing what I most love to do,” says London. “There is seriously no end to what this show can be and it’s a joy for me night after night to create this amazing synergy with the audience. I’m a long way from those days I was jumping on the bar singing at Club 19 in Pebble Beach and I have enjoyed every moment of the journey immensely. The typical impressionist just does one character after another, but I enjoy being more innovative and original in my approach to this exciting performance art form. Fresh off his win for “Best Adult Contemporary Song” at the 2009 Hollywood Music In Media Awards (HMMA), London has been selected to co-host the third annual event at The Highlands in the Hollywood & Highland Kodak Theatre Complex on November 18, 2010. The singer’s recording of “Everything I Own” was the highest charting new artist release and highest charting release on an independent label (airplay charts) of 2009. London scored back to back Top 5 singles on the FMQB Adult Contemporary Radio Chart. London also made Music Connection Magazine’s list of Hot 100 Artists of 2009.

In 2008, he appeared in the independent film “The Dukes,” playing a member of a washed up doo-wop group that turns, comically, to a life of crime. His cohorts are Chazz Palmenteri, two time Academy Award nominee Peter Bogdanovich and renowned character actor Robert Davi (“Die Hard,” “Profiler”), who wrote, directed and co-produced the film.

London, who launched his live musical comedy performance career in various venues at the Pebble Beach resort, even made Clint Eastwood’s day. Dirty Harry himself says of this million dollar baby, “Greg will leave you emotionally charged with a truly great performance.”

Fresh off his win for “Best Adult Contemporary Song” at the First Annual Hollywood Music In Media Awards (HMMA), “ICONMAN” star Greg London has been selected to co-host the third annual event at The Highlands in the Hollywood & Highland Kodak Theatre Complex on November 18, 2010.

Besides winning in his category for his hit version of Bread’s “Everything I Own” and being congratulated by actor Eric Roberts—brother of superstar Julia Roberts–the master musical impressionist dazzled the crowd at the Awards as a presenter, leading the packed house in an a capella version of “American Pie” and doing his classic impressions of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Ozzy Osbourne.

The multi-talented entertainer also charmed journalists with his wit as he walked the red carpet, conducting numerous media interviews.

London then jetted back to Reno, where his critically acclaimed show “ICONMAN” wrapped its record breaking two and a half year run in Sammy’s Showroom at Harrah’s Reno November 28.

Suffering villagers in post earthquake Haiti may never have seen London perform, but they are no doubt grateful that “ICONMAN” is now in huge demand as top cruise line entertainment. Recently, London was headlining on the Celebrity Solstice when it made a stop in Labadee, Haiti. The Greek captain asked for volunteers to help unload medical supplies, clothing and water into Haitian trucks purposed for earthquake relief.

London joined some Israelis who were on board in commandeering 25 jet skis  and delivering these necessary supplies to five local villages where fishermen have had no way to get their fish to market due to devastated roads to the capital, Port-au-Prince.

Last year, the success of “ICONMAN” led to London’s being voted “Best Entertainer In Nevada” in Nevada Magazine’s 2009 Best of Nevada Readers Survey and appearing on the publication’s cover; the magazine’s 2009 cover subjects included Carlos Santana and Britney Spears. London also recently made Music Connection Magazine’s list of Hot 100 Unsigned Artists of 2009.

Greg London’s critically acclaimed show “ICONMAN” may be wrapping its record breaking two and a half year run in Sammy’s Showroom at Harrah’s Reno November 28, but the master musical impressionist (www.gregorylondon.com) has found another venue in which to play multiple roles: the Hollywood Music In Media Awards (HMMA), where he will be both nominee and presenter.

The red carpet studded HMMA, which honors the music of visual mediums, the talented individuals responsible for selecting it, and the music of artists, both mainstream and independent, from around the globe, takes place Thursday, November 19 at the Highlands Nightclub located in the Hollywood & Highland/Kodak Theater complex.

London will present five awards to independent music artists. His recording of “Everything I Own” is nominated in the Adult Contemporary category for having the highest charting new artist release and highest charting release on an independent label (airplay charts).

On November 28, after London’s final performance of “ICONMAN,” Harrah’s Reno will host an invitation only exclusive farewell party honoring his incredible achievements—which include being voted “Best Entertainer In Nevada in Nevada Magazine’s 2009 Best of Nevada Readers Survey.

The 10 p.m. reception will take place on the 4th floor of the West Tower.

Capping an incredible year in Reno and on the adult contemporary airplay charts, London also recently made Music Connection Magazine’s list of Hot 100 Unsigned Artists of 2009. The list will be published in the print and online editions of the December issue.

As the holiday season approaches, there is something else for London and his fans to celebrate: the return of his beautifully arranged, intimate rendition of “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.” Originally released in 2008, the track—produced by veteran film composer Eric Colvin and featuring popular saxophonist Warren Hill and vocals by James Taylor’s longtime backing vocalists Arnold McCuller and Kate Markowitz–is back at AC radio as one of the most added for holiday season airplay.
