BETA Records TV is a nationally syndicated weekly music-centric television series carried in 150+ U.S. cities. Based in the heart of Hollywood, Calif., BETA Records TV showcases at least three acoustic artist videos from newly-signed and Indie bands weekly in episode format. Dave Mason has enjoyed a career that has spanned over 37 years, performing to sold-out audiences with memorable bands Traffic and Fleetwood Mac, as well as recording with some of music’s legendary icons, including Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, George Harrison and the Rolling Stones. He has penned and recorded enduring gold and platinum songs, including “Feeling Alright”, “Let It Flow” and his smash-hit single, “We Just Disagree”. In 2004 Dave Mason and the band Traffic received one of the highest honors that can be bestowed to a music artist when they were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The Hollywood Music in Media Awards (HMMA), the most anticipated and innovative music awards event of the year, will take place Thursday, November 19, 2009 at The Highlands located in the world-famous Hollywood & Highlands / Kodak Theater complex in Hollywood, California. Today, the HMMA posted nominee picks from its July submissions. August submission deadline is midnight, Monday, August 31!
July nominee selections include Michelle Branch for “Everywhere” (“Best Song – Commercial Advertisement” / Chase Bank commercial), Disney/Hollywood Records recording artist Steve Rushton for “Ready To Rock” (“Best Music Video” from the #1 blockbuster movie “G-Force”), VH1 Records recording artists Morningwood (“Best Of Me”), indie artist Will Champlin (“Killing Me With Twilight”) for Best Pop Song, composer Assaf Rinde for Original Score-Film (“Kill Zone”) and many more. The Hollywood Music in Media Awards recognizes and honors the music of visual mediums, the talented individuals responsible for selecting it, and the music of artists, both mainstream and independent, from around the globe. HMMA is the first music awards event to recognize and honor excellence in music supervision and to place video games along side TV and film in terms of importance. Iconic artists will also be presented with a variety of awards, including an award for Outstanding Career Achievement in honor of their accomplishments and longevity in the entertainment field. The evening will feature live music performances, celebrity appearances, award presentations, an exclusive VIP reception, and a dinner banquet catered by Wolfgang Puck, Inc. The entire event will be shot with multiple HD cameras for digital and cable broadcast in 17 countries and U.S. territories (120 Million households).
This year, the HMMA is also the only red carpet style awards show in the world to include a comprehensive interactive industry conference experience designed to offer opportunities and further the careers of all involved. The Hollywood Music in Media Awards, the only red carpet style awards show in the world that includes a comprehensive interactive industry conference (MIMICON) designed to inform, educate, present opportunities and further the careers of its participants, recently announced its slate of 26 first round nominees and is currently accepting online submissions for its next round.
Scheduled to be presented November 19, 2009 at The Highlands in the world famous Hollywood & Highland/Kodak Theatre complex in Hollywood, CA, this exciting new red carpet event (www.hmmawards.com) features live performances, award presentations, a VIP reception and banquet dinner catered by Wolfgang Puck™.
Music artists and artist representatives can submit music for nomination consideration directly through the HMMA web site or through the event’s designated submission partners. All submission instructions are provided on the HMMA Submit Music Page. Participants can enter as many songs/videos as they wish (each no more than five minutes in length) There is a nominal fee for each submission.
Industry and foundational entities can participate via sponsorship and/or strategic partnerships. Businesses and entrepreneurs wishing to participate can do so via the HMMA Sponsorship Program.

Currently accepting registrations, MIMICON will feature top industry luminaries focusing on what artists and entertainment professionals need to know to get their music in film, TV, video games, movie trailers, commercials and other forms of contemporary media. Artists, composers, producers and song-writers will be given the unique opportunity to pitch their work directly to the professionals that place and license music.
MIMICON will include panels, seminars, workshops, interactive displays, live performances and one-on-one mentoring sessions with top industry professionals. An eclectic mix of notable names dominate the featured visual media categories including, film composers Michael Giacchino (“Up” / “Star Trek”), Clinton Shorter (“District 9”), Alexandre Displat (“Julie & Julia”), Jim Dooley (“Obsessed”), TV composers Lisa Coleman & Wendy Melvoin (“Heroes”), Dan Licht (“Dexter”), Danny Lux (“The Good Wife”), Nathan Barr (“True Blood”), video game composers Inon Zur (“Dragon Age: Origins”), Martin O’Donnell (“Halo 3: ODST”), Jesper Kyd (“Assassins Creed 2″) and many more.
Other visual media categories include Best Original Song in film, TV, Video game, commercial advertisement and music video. Music categories include all major music genres, including a special award for Best New Composer (nominees are Zeltia Montes, Leah Curtis, Zain Effendi and Amanda Lee Faulkenberg). Receiving the HMMA Outstanding Career Achievement in Film Composition is Academy Award nominee John Debney. Debney has composed film scores for a wide range of genres, including The Princess Diaries, The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement and Raising Helen, Spy Kids, Sin City, Elf, Liar Liar, Dragonfly, Bruce Almighty, Hannah Montana: The Movie, and The Passion of the Christ, which earned him an Oscar nomination. Current film projects include Garry Marshall’s Valentine’s Day, Sin City 2 & 3, and one of the most anticipated films of 2010, Iron Man 2. Debney will be the first composer to receive such an honor from the Hollywood Music In Media Awards.
Co-hosts Adam Gaynor, founding member of Matchbox 20, and recording artist & actress Suzan Brittan-Gault will helm the gala.
