Theory Of Flight’s “Set The Night On Fire” Music Video Featured On Yahoo! Music

Vegas rock band Theory Of Flight soars into the summer opening for well-known rock band Marcy Playground for the “Leaving Wonderland…In a Fit Of Rage” tour. The tour begins June 3 in Janesville, WI at The Back Bar and then heads to Fridley, MN (June 4),  Rochester, MN(June 5), Des Moines, IA (June 6), Bellingham, WA (June 10), and Olympia, WA (June 11). The tour continues in Napavine, WA(June 12), Seattle, WA (June 13), Corpus Christi, TX (August 4), Austin, TX (August 5), Houston, TX(August  6), Galveston, TX (August 7), ending in San Antonio, TX(August 8).

The band was asked to join the tour making it perfect timing for Theory Of Flight as they released their debut album, Within Reach on April 20. Lead singer Beau Hodges comments, “We were on the road when we found out that we would be on tour with Marcy Playground for summer 2010. We got instantly energized by the news and are stoked to be heading out with such a great band!”

 While on the “Leaving Wonderland…In a Fit Of Rage” tour Theory Of Flight connects with TIGI hair products “Rockaholic,” a line influenced by the music world realm unleashing the rock star in all of us. Theory Of Flight will be promoting the “Rockaholic” hair product line throughout the tour with Marcy Playground. President of Ue3 Promotions, Jennifer Lyneis, created the unique relationship between Theory Of Flight and TIGI. “TIGI’s ‘Rockaholic’ line was a fantastic fit for the band. We are very excited for the cross promotions, therefore, Theory Of Flight will promote the hair line in selected tour cities across the U.S,” states Lyneis. 

Theory Of Flight’s current single “Set The Night On Fire” off the Within Reach album, has been hitting the pop and alternative radio airwaves. The music video for the single was shot in their home town of Vegas and is currently featured on Yahoo! Music for the site’s “New Music” section. The video was also recently featured on popular teen satellite TV segment Channel One.

Within Reach was produced by Grammy winning duo Bob Cutarella (The Police, Elton John, and Cyndi Lauper) and Fran Carthcart (Sting, Sevendust, and Beyoncé) of NYC’s East Side Sound studios. Original mixing of the album was done by renowned L.A. engineer, Mark Needham(Fleetwood Mac, Chris Issak, and The Killers).

Vegas’ own rockers Theory Of Flight are kicking off the April 20 release of their highly anticipated album Within Reach with a bang. From April 19-25, AOL Music is featuring a Listening Party with a free stream of the full album.

On April 26, Channel One News will feature the music video for the band’s current single “Set The Night On Fire”. The 30 minute daily news segment is broadcasted through satellite to nearly six million teens in approximately 8,000 middle schools and high schools across the country.

The five-piece band also heads to New York City, supplied with two new guitars courtesy of Gibson for lead guitarist Vince Casas and rhythm guitarist Stephen Goodrum, on April 21 to appear on Channel One News in support of their “Set The Night On Fire” music video feature and perform live at Sullivan Hall at 8:30 p.m.

Theory Of Flight will give a special in-store performance on April 22 at the Best Buy in Union Square from 3-4 p.m. and will sign CDs for fans and newcomers following their set.

In what is shaping up to be an incredible spring for Theory of Flight, the Las Vegas melodic rock powerhouse has upcoming shows at South By Southwest (SXSW), a single (“Set The Night On Fire”) receiving airplay across the country and a debut album Within Reach scheduled for release April 20.

On March 29, they can add “entertaining the troops” to this exciting agenda!

TOF will be performing at Downtown Las Vegas’ Fremont Street Experience as part of “Rock For Freedom,” a public welcome home party for Nevada troops returning from Afghanistan.

The band’s 7 p.m. set is part of an all-night (6 p.m.-Midnight) celebration welcoming all 456 members of the 122-1 Cavalry with the Nevada Army National Guard who deployed a year ago. This was the largest deployment of Nevada troops to combat since World War II.

While miraculously, none of the troops were killed in combat, a handful of the soldiers—affectionately known as the “Wounded Warriors”—will be flown in from Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. to be part of the festivities. They will then return to continue their post-combat treatment.

Theory of Flight’s participation in this year’s “Rock For Freedom” brings them full circle; last year, the band organized a “Rock For Freedom” concert at Red Rock Harley Davidson to bid these same troops farewell.

At 11 a.m. the morning of March 29, TOF lead singer Beau Hodges will have the honor of singing our National Anthem at an official National Guard Welcome Home ceremony at the Mandalay Bay Events Center at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.

TOF recently secured a sponsorship deal with Sennheiser Microphones. The band will be performing at numerous events at SXSW, including the “Sennheiser Presents Rooftop Industry Mixer at Speakeasy” on 4th Street in downtown Austin March 18.

Theory of Flight was formed in 2007 by frontman Beau Hodges, lead guitarist Vince Casas and bassist Joey McMahon. The band’s lineup also includes Tyler Williams (drums) and Stephen Goodrum (rhythm guitar).

The winding-down year of 2009 has proven to be a promising year for Las Vegas’ fan favorite rock band Theory of Flight. After charting on MIX’s 94.1FM and winning the Bite of Las Vegas, MIX shows their support again along with AEG Live as Theory of Flight opens for popular, Grammy Awarding winning rock band Train on Saturday, December 12 at popular Vegas hot spot Pure in Caesar’s Palace.

The band then hit New York City’s East Side Sound studios to work with two industry heavy hitters, Grammy winning producer Bob Cutarella (The Police, Elton John, REM, Cyndi Lauper and Ashley Tisdale) and Grammy winning engineer Fran Carthcart (Mariah Carey, Sting, Eric Clapton, Sevendust and Beyoncé) to complete tracks from Within Reach, their debut album, to be released in stores come spring 2010.

Just last month, the six-piece band was nominated for a Hollywood Music in Media Award (HMMA) for their track, “Can’t You See” in the Best Rock Category. Vince Neil’s Feel Goods Along With A Kick Off Performance
For UFL’s Championship

Las Vegas’ buzz band Theory of Flight is looking forward to a flurry of November performances. The band recently performed to a fan packed record release party at Town Square Las Vegas for their debut album Within Reach mixed by Grammy-nominated producer Mark Needham (The Killers, Fleetwood Mac, My Chemical Romance). Following the record release party Theory of Flight also headlined the local stage at the Bite of Las Vegas, having won Mix 94.1 FM’s local artist battle of the bands to score the honor.

Continuing on with the winning streak as a hometown favorite, the group just won the local band opening spot for major label rockers Everclear with special guests Clayton Senne at the Vegas Hard Rock Hotel on November 7. Fans could vote for their favorite out of the top three local bands by placing a comment on Everclear’s MySpace page.

Also ahead for the hard-working group this month are two more Vegas performances. The first takes place at Vince Neil’s Feel Goods on November 12, then rounding out the month, the band will give a kick-off performance at the United Football League (UFL) Championship game on November 27.
