LEGENDARY POP DUO AIR SUPPLY
RETURNS TO BILLBOARD’S AC CHART
AFTER 17 YEARS WITH THEIR
LATEST SINGLE ‘DANCE WITH ME’
AND CELEBRATES THE RELEASE
OF THEIR NEW ALBUM ‘MUMBO JUMBO’
Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock, better known to millions of fans throughout the world as Air Supply, may still sing their signature song “All Out Of Love”—but the hits just keep on coming!
The legendary pop duo celebrates today’s (May 4) release of Mumbo Jumbo–their first album of original material in eight years—and the ongoing success of its first single “Dance With Me” with a prominent feature article in Billboard Magazine titled “Still Supplying The Hits After 35 Years.”
The online version of the piece includes audio snippets from writer Gary Trust’s interview in which Russell and Hitchcock discuss touring, songwriting and Australia’s music scene; the duo met in 1975 while performing in an Australian production of “Jesus Christ Superstar.”
Their first Billboard hit since 1993, “Dance With Me” is currently “bubbling under” Billboard’s Adult Contemporary chart. The new album Mumbo Jumbo is released on the Las Vegas-based Indie label, Odds On Records, headed by former Warner Bros. executive Ted Joseph.
Just weeks after composer and vocalist Graham Russell was honored with a BMI Million-Air Certificate recognizing 3 million performances of the duo’s hit “All Out Of Love,” Air Supply’s new song was the #1 most added track on the FMQB AC40 Chart, and also one of the most added on the R&R (Radio and Records) AC Chart and the Mediabase AC chart.
Many of the superstars Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock are sharing chart space with weren’t even born when the duo was scoring its most enduring early ‘80s hits like “Lost In Love,” “Making Love Out of Nothing At All” and “The One That You Love.”
Air Supply is touring the U.S. this year after a whirlwind schedule these past few years that has included hundreds of concerts everywhere from The Philippines and Singapore to Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, Israel, Brazil and even Vietnam.
