Missouri rockers Shaman’s Harvest will hit the big screen this coming fall as their popular track “Dragonfly” will be featured in WWE’s upcoming film “Legendary.” The film industry predicts this to be WWE Films’ best movie yet. The song will not only be featured once, but twice within the film. “Dragonfly” was the band’s first successful commercial rock single, which has accumulated more than 1.2 million views on YouTube and graced Billboard‘s Rock Songs, Active Rock and Mainstream Rock charts.
The motion picture opens on Friday, September 10 featuring WWE superstar, John Cena (“12 Rounds,” “The Marine”), Patricia Clarkson (“The Green Mile,” “The Untouchables,” HBO’s “6 Feet Under”) and Danny Glover (“Lethal Weapon,” “Top Gun,” “Royal Tennebaums”). Included in the cast is young TV actor Devon Graye(Showtimes’ “Dexter,” “CSI Miami,” “Saving Grace”) and actress Madeleine Martin best known for her role as Becca Moody on the series “Californication.”
“Legendary” is about a broken family and a unique teenager (Graye) who decides he will join his high school wrestling team in hopes to regain a relationship with his estranged older brother (Cena), a recently released convict who once was a wrestling champion. Cena’s character left his brother and his mother (Clarkson) after a tragic vehicle accident, killing the boys’ father, and leaving the mother a widow. Glover’s character steps in as a mentor to the family.
Shaman’s Harvest’s newly released single and title track to their current LP, “Shine,” just hit the radio airwaves and is already in rotation at WJJO in Madison, Wis., Sirius XM’s popular rock satellite station Octane, KBRE Merced, Calif., KQRA Springfield, Mo., and WIIL Chicago.
The self-released rockers continue their high energy live performance on the road through September. Earlier this month the band gave an all out rock performance at the 70th Year Anniversary Sturgis Rally for the Rock-N-Rev Festival, which also included headlining acts Godsmack, Creed, Guns N’ Roses, Alice in Chains, and Stone Temple Pilots. Shaman’s Harvest will also perform at the KSHE Pig Roast in St. Louis on September 18, as well as LOOP Fest for Chicago’s major rock station WLUP on September 19. The band is also supporting a major U.S. city tour with Warner Bros’ Cavo.
