Lola Spriggs, the only Canadian nominee in both the Pop and Adult Contemporary/AAA categories, will appear at the Hollywood Music In Media Awards (HMMA) in style wearing a gown by internationally acclaimed fashion designer Richard Robinson created especially for her to wear for the highly-anticipated Red Carpet event.
Known for his taste, quality, enthusiasm and pizzazz, Robinson has created gowns for Brigitte Bardot, Elizabeth Taylor, Zizi Jeanmaire and Catherine de Neuve. He is recognized internationally for his winning combination of extravagance and practicality, and is excited to be dressing Spriggs for the HMMA show.
Spriggs is nominated for Best Pop Song for her single “I Wanna Love You” and Best Adult Contemporary/AAA Song for the title track of her new EP Nobody But You.
The singer has been grabbing the media spotlight with profiles by Reuters, Orleans EMC, The Ottawa Sun, Orleans Online, MuchMusic USA and A Celebration Of Women. She also recently appeared on the local cable show Rogers Daytime. Women’s Post online, Canada’s leading national publication for women in business, named Spriggs their first Woman of the Week on October 25.
A regular on the Canadian charts since 2004, Spriggs brings her unique soulful pop style showcased on Nobody But You, in which she collaborated with writer and producer Marcus Kane (Snow, XQuisite, GQ) of Toronto’s Moonraker Studios.
Produced and written by Kane, the lead-off track on the recording, shot to the top of the FMQB AC40 Chart and broke through the North American major market Mediabase AC Top40 earlier this year, propelled by the songs lush harmonies and uplifting lyrics. It was also the #1 song on the Ottawa’s Pop Chart for six weeks.
“I Wanna Love You,” the second single from Nobody But You, is being promoted with a music video directed by James Campbell. The video had its premiere on YouTube in September.
The HMMA show takes place on November 18 at the world-famous Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood, Calif. The HMMA recognizes and honors the music of visual mediums, the talented individuals responsible for it, and the music of both mainstream and independent artists from around the globe.
