The Canadian Rockers’ Debut Album ‘The Sea Above The Sky’
Garners National Attention And Becomes This Year’s Oscar Swag

Indie rock band Exit 451 has chosen a finalist for their music video contest for their second single, “You Exist.” For two months, the band sought after inspiring filmmakers to create a treatment for the song. The band was honored as they received an overwhelming response from contestants eager to help bring the project to life.

Chaz Fatur of The Los Angeles Film School has been named as the finalist of the concept contest. His vision, as chosen by the band, is to follow the lives of three downtrodden members of society (a teen, a homeless man and an unappreciated housewife) whose lives will intertwine throughout the video, using the single as its backdrop. “The song tries to tell them, at a basic level, that they ‘exist,’ said Fatur, regarding the song’s significance to his concept.

Although the release date of the final product is to be determined, Exit 451 has gained enough national media attention to keep them busy in the interim, as they have been profiled in Skope Magazine, Big Blend Radio and Indies And The Underground.

In addition, their album, “The Sea Above The Sky,” has grasped the ears of Jade Sperry of North by East West, who wrote: “The dynamic Montreal trio has released a stunningly beautiful package of music to the masses.” Lastly—and perhaps the most exciting of affairs—the album will be featured in a number of gift bags at this year’s Oscars gifting suite.

Exit 451 recorded their album at The Bank Studio 451, the band’s own state-of-the-art recording studio in downtown Montreal. The studio was originally a bank that they remodeled in 2004. Renowned producer Mark Howard (Bob Dylan, The Tragically Hip, Tom Waits and Marianne Faithfull) spent ample time at Studio 451, helping  Exit 451 complete their debut album featuring their first single, “Where The Sea Meets The Sky,” which hit in late Fall 2010. The single peaked at #11 and became the most added track on the FMQB AC Chart its first week.
