And Jets On A West Coast Tour
37 Records, initially known for its talented singer/songwriter roster of artists and publishing and licensing deals, has really been building the label’s now extremely strong artist development and A&R departments, with the addition of White Apple Tree, Nikki Forova and Melody Zephyr in the last four years. Therefore, it is no surprise 37 Records has released a bold new musical hound into the wild of the music industry. The label has signed a deal with rising So Cal underground pop band The Gromble.
The band’s name, “The Gromble” comes from the teen sensation Nickelodeon show Aaahh!!! Real Monsters and is the name of cartoon’s strict headmaster the boys explained in their recent interview with KROQ FM. KROQ reviewed the rockers as, “…The Gromble even cooler especially since they’re perfected a modernized version of Weezer’s wry, crunchy pop angst, The Pixies’ quirky, angular guitars, and Pavements’ acerbic noise pop with a dash of Elvis Costello sophistication.” The Gromble, who consist of Spencer Askin(vocals, guitar), Trevin Eck(bassist), Steven Lindenfelser(lead guitar) Michael Lee(keyboards) and Stefan Macarewich(drums) also stated in the interview the amazing feeling of being nominated for “Best New Artist” at the 10th Anniversary 2011 OC Music Awards, after releasing their singles “Toto,” “NYC Frog,” and fan favorite “Creepy Crawly.” The tracks sparked the interest of 37 Records’ President Steven McClintock who decided to push the boys’ upcoming album slated for late 2011. The untitled album will be a released both digitally and physically, with North America distribution through Burnside. Plus, 37 Record’s sister company 37 Songs/ Mc James Music Inc., also signed a 3-year publishing deal with three of The Grombler’s members, all of whom are songwriters, Lindenfelser, Askin and Eck.
