The 14-year-old rising songstress is slated to attend the upcoming 2011 Hollywood Music In Media Awards (HMMAs) on November 17 where she will contend for top honors at The Highlands, located at the world-famous Kodak Theater complex in Hollywood, Calif. Alana garnered two nominations including Best Pop Song for “Synchronize” and Best Music Video for her hit clip, “Butterflies.”
“Synchronize” was co-written by Grammy-nominated lyricist Pamela Phillips Oland and veteran singer, songwriter and music producer Steven McClintock—also the owner of flourishing indie-label 37 Records which Alana was signed to earlier this year. She has plans to release a five-track EP this winter, also produced by McClintock.
“Butterflies” and “Synchronize” are currently in rotation on radio stations internationally in England, Australia, and Canada. Also, she was featured in a magazine article Caprico in Brazil, Canada’s KickRadio, and interviewed with Australian Radio’s DJ Jase.
The young talent- who has a background in acting- also recently spread her wings onto the big screen with a featured role in “The Measure of A Man,” which was written and directed by Elizabeth Waite, and currently receiving numerous accolades on the independent film circuit. The film has already received six awards at the eight film festivals that have featured it.
