The Entertainment Capital of the World Becomes a Visual
Arts Mecca with the Debut of this Event at The Wynn Las Vegas
December 20-22, 2012
The World of Art Showcase is pleased to announce the addition of world renowned, Bali-basedAustrian painter Wolfgang Widmoser to its inaugural event—a long overdue celebration of the visual arts and artists (www.worldofartshowcase.com) at the Wynn Las Vegas & Encore Resort December 20-22, 2012.
“The focus of the show is to promote the arts and explain how, why and when to purchase paintings for both pleasure and investment purposes,” says World of Art Showcase Executive Director Mario Parga. ”Wolfgang is a well traveled painter of extraordinary depth and imagination who has exhibited all over the world, and we’re excited that he will be joining our roster of world class artists.”
Widmoser, who studied Renaissance painting techniques with legendary painters Ernst Fuchs (inVienna) and Salvador Dalí (Cadaques) while coming up in the 1970s, applies European techniques to a pushed vision of reality. His multi-faceted works are distinguished by the distortion of forms with exquisitely painted realism in the rendering of their surfaces – shells, water, plants and above all, faces. He developed his early career with still-lifes before moving to Ticino, where his focus became impressionistic landscapes—waterfalls, forests, misty mountain slopes.
After exploring the light and change of seasons for a time in Tuscany, he settled in Bali, where bowls and shells appeared in his still-lifes of such things as wineglasses and Etruscan jars. He later combined objects, landscapes and figures of different cultures and times. Psychic landscapes led to a series of large triptiches that he currently explores via his Warrior series. His work has been exhibited throughout Europe, Asia and Australia. His exhibitions in Jakarta, Indonesia have included his show “Venus Rising” at Bentara Budaya and participation in the Achilli Museumexhibition “Expanding Contemporary Realism.”
“The World of Art Showcase is a splendid occasion for painters and art lovers to get inspired and share their values,” says Widmoser. “I’m very impressed with its philosophy and very glad to be a part. Its intention to share beauty and quality will lead to an enhanced consciousness and move the world into a better place of joy and appreciation.”
The groundbreaking vision of David Goldstein, COO of Jerry’s Artarama—one of the world’s most loved art material supply companies—the World of Art Showcase is very much a cause to reestablish the arts to their rightful place within society. It is an exclusive show for professional artists from across the U.S. and around the world to sell their art and make important personal connections with art buyers, collectors and galleries.
Fashioned as a harmonized presentation of the finest original contemporary paintings, the exhibition is fast establishing itself as a world class cultural event. Its primary goal is to promote the most talented contemporary painters in America, with work ranging from classical to modern.
