EMERGING MICHIGAN-BASED POP SONGSTRESS
KANISHA K’S LATEST SINGLE ‘BRING ME HOME’ SET
TO IMPACT ADULT CONTEMPORARY RADIO JUNE 2 –
A FULL WEEK PRIOR TO ITS MAJOR MARKET PUSH
ON MEDIABASE AND BILLBOARD
Kanisha Will Be Performing at Holland Park Theatre
In Her Hometown of Holland, Michigan June 20
Fresh from her first Hollywood Music in Media Award (HMMA) nomination (Best Pop Song) for her breakout hit “My Another Day,” Kanisha K’s (www.kanishakmusic.com) new single “Bring Me Home” is impacting Adult Contemporary radio on FMQB June 2 – a week prior to its planned major market push on Mediabase and Billboard.
According to the All Access Music Downloads System (AADL), as of May 25, Kanisha’s latest song sits atop the #1 Most Streamed Tracks chart and is the #2 Top Downloaded track in the Hot, Modern and AC genres.
“Bring Me Home” was produced by veteran producer and artist Larry King (Soleil Moon, lead vocalist in the Michael Thompson Band & Larry King Orchestra). The track features some of Chicago’s top musicians, including John Blasucci on keyboards, Khari Parker on drums, Lamar Jones on bass and guitarist Chris Siebold.
The fast rising Holland, Mich.-based singer will be performing in her hometown June 20 at 8 p.m. at the Holland Park Theatre.
Kanisha recently did an interview with on air personality John Sinkevics on his WJRW (1340 AM) radio show “Local Spins.” Originating from Grand Rapids, the program is dedicated to covering Western Michigan’s Music Scene. On May 29, Kanisha also appeared with host Andy Preacher on the online station Freedom Talk Radio, which features voices from around the world.
The budding singer is earning praise left and right from media and music industry VIPS: Tom Lounges of MidWest Beat Magazine said, “”Upon hearing her, I too became an instant fan.” Michael Tearson (Sirius/XM-Deep Tracks) commented, “Check out Kanisha K and I know you’ll be glad you did.”
Emma Jade Gunn of Surfrockmusic.com says, “It’s certain she has her finger on the pulse of people as well as having it on dynamite, pulsating, invigorating and tantalizing music.”
“My Another Day,” which was a Top 40 hit on the Mediabase A/C chart,
was conceived as a healing post-breakup song but adopted by many fans as an anthem about overcoming addiction. It’s the follow-up to her first Top Ten single, “I Found Love (Just In Time For Christmas).”
The infectious track, which reached #5 on the FMQB AC40 Chart alongside superstars like Pharrell Williams, Daughtry, One Direction, Imagine Dragons, Katy Perry and Lorde, also received a nod in the Best Pop Song category in the April 2014 Music Genre nominations.
Kanisha K made her debut last holiday season with her Top Ten single, “I Found Love (Just In Time For Christmas),” prompting praise from Al Choman of the Village Voice who said, “Although she’s just stepping onto the stage, metaphorically, of her music career she’s created an instant classic…”
