Already a YouTube sensation after racking up more than 11.5 million views for the video for her debut pop single “Butterflies,” Alana Lee spreads her wings onto the big screen with a featured role in The Measure of A Man—currently receiving numerous accolades on the independent film circuit.

The multi-talented 14-year-old plays “Mary,” the third oldest of nine children in the inspirational true story of Donald P. Bailey who overcomes tragic beginnings in difficult times such as the Great Depression and World War II, and created a legacy that will last for generations.

Written and directed by Elizabeth Waite, The Measure of a Man has been named an Official Selection at numerous film festivals around the country, including: the Philadelphia Independent Film Festival; Ruby Mountain Film Festival (where it also received an Audience Choice Award); Phoenix Christian Film Festival (also the Audience Favorite Award); Peach Tree Village Film Festival (also Best Feature Film); Indie Fest (also the Award of Excellence) and the Louisville International Film Festival. It has also been selected for the Bayou City Inspirational Film Festival in Houston.

Alana’s mega-popular clip for “Butterflies” was recently nominated for Best Music Video at the upcoming 2011 Hollywood Music In Media Awards (HMMAs); the ceremony takes place at The Highlands in Hollywood on November 17.

The multi-talented phenom’s equally infectious follow up single “Synchronize,” is available on AlanaLeeMusic.net and on iTunes: She will be releasing her debut EP this fall. An acoustic version of the song can also be found on YouTube.

“Butterflies” and “Synchronize” are currently in rotation on radio stations internationally in England, Australia, and Canada.  Also, she was featured in a magazine article Caprico in Brazil, Canada’s KickRadio, and interviewed with Australian Radio’s DJ Jase.

Signed to the innovative Long Beach, California label 37 Records, Alana has received a flurry of media and online attention recently, with interviews in OC Weekly, OC Music Scene,  Finding-Cupid with David Cruz, American Perspective, PopYOUlarity.com and Suite101.com, in addition to upcoming television segments on PBS (KOCE-TV) and Young Icons.
