The Seattle-based electronic pop artist recently brought her fresh, trippy and infectious “rocktronica” vibe to 1st Annual Intergalactic Halloween Ball, performing for a packed audience at the FRED Wildlife Refuge. The multi-talented singer/songwriter is also nominated for two Hollywood Music in Media Awards (HMMAs), including Best Pop Song for “Trouble”and Best Music Video (a visual media award) for “Today.” Aradia will be in attendance to the 5th Annual HMMAs held November 4, 2014 at The Fonda Theatre in Hollywood, Calif. The HMMAs honor music from visual mediums, individuals who create and produce it, and both mainstream and independent musicians from around the globe. Also this fall, a Triple A radio campaign for songs from Citizen of Earth will soon be underway via Twin Vision promotions. Citizen of Earth is a unique collection of songs reflecting dark and light, featuring what Aradia calls “musical images of intense situations and the feelings they evoke.” Her multi-faceted music and dark/light sensibilities are just the foundation for the whole aesthetic of Aradia’s artistry, which includes crafty costuming, a dynamically choreographed stage show and the occasional shock value moment in the tradition of Madonna and Lady Gaga. Leading up to the debut of Citizen of Earth, Aradia released a series of fun and clever videos on her YouTube channel of random classic cover songs before dropping the incendiary clip for her empowering original tune “On Fire.” Cover videos include “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” a wild performance piece with the singer on keyboards which shows what might happen if Kurt Cobain hopped in a blender with Eurythmics. Next she rolled out “White Wedding,” a cover of Billy Idol’s original song, then October 10 released a free digital download of “Like A Prayer.” Aradia is sure to make waves across the curious universe with a unique sound that blends rock, pop, trip-hop and electronic; her sound has been likened to an otherworldly mix of Donna Summer, Trent Reznor, David Bowie and George Harrison.
