HOLLAND, MICH. – As she continues her exciting rise in the Top 20 on the FMQB AC40 chart among big pop names like Frank D’Angelo, Phillip Phillips, Pharrell Williams and John Legend, Kanisha K (www.kanishakmusic.com) is looking forward to some spectacular mid-summer live performances.
Two weeks after “Bring Me Home” made a dramatic six-point leap into the Top 20, the emerging indie pop songstress’ latest single jumps from #17 to #15 with a bullet – and is tied on the AC Add Board with superstars Jason Mraz and Demi Lovato.
Kanisha K will be performing the Gary Southshore Railcats Vs. Kansas City T-Bones baseball game on August 1, where she will also throw out the first pitch.
She will also perform at The Lakeshore Public Radio Free Entertainment Tent at the Lake County Fair in Crown Point, Indiana on Thursday, August 7. As part of R&B/Pop Night, Kanisha K will be headlining on a bill with the Michael Turner Band; Turner is the touring saxophonist with The Ohio Players.
In addition, the Holland, Mich.-based artist will be performing at The New Holland Brewery on July 19, and will be featured at H.O.M.E. at the B.O.B. in Grand Rapids on August 28, which is affiliated with the willplayforfoodfoundation.org.
In June, Kanisha sang the National Anthem for the West Michigan Whitecaps, the Detroit Tigers Single A minor league affiliate, located in Comstock Park, Mich., a suburb of Grand Rapids.
“Bring Me Home,” the follow-up to her breakthrough hit “My Another Day,” recently peaked at #33 with a bullet on the Mediabase AC chart, and #40 with a bullet on the BDS (Broadcast Data Systems) chart, which reports Billboard A/C activity. The track debuted at #29 with a bullet this week on the BDS Indicator chart.
Kanisha K recently snagged a second Hollywood Music in Media Award (HMMA) in the category of Best Pop Song for her tune “Stupid Boyfriend.” Previously, she had earned a nomination in the same category for “My Another Day.”
“Bring Me Home” was produced by veteran producer and artist Larry King (Soleil Moon- lead vocalist in the Michael Thompson Band & Larry King Orchestra). The track features some of Chicago’s top musicians, including John Blasucci on keyboards, Khari Parker on drums, Lamar Jones on bass and guitarist Chris Siebold.
The track was engineered and mixed by Grammy Award winner Craig Bauer, whose credits include Kanye West, The O’Jays, 98 Degrees, Richard Marx, Styx, Dave Koz, Public Enemy, Brian Culbertson, Nick Carter, Straight No Chaser and others.
