EMERGING SINGER/SONGWRITER SIERRA WEST
PERFORMS TO A FULL HOUSE IN CELEBRATION
OF HER NEWEST EP ‘HOLD YOUR FIRE,’ OUT NOW
New England-based folk-rock singer/songwriter Sierra West (www.sierrarocks.com) celebrated the release of her newest EP Hold Your Fire with a sold-out show at the celebrated Club Passim (formerly Club 47), on August 14, 2012. Lloyd Thayer, who also featured on Sierra’s previous EP Rocks, opened up the evening.
The show also raised awareness for non-profit organizations Right Turn (www.right-turn.org) an innovative, Arlington, Mass.-based program that offers intensive outpatient and residential treatment services in a uniquely creative environment, and Helping Hands (www.monkeyhelpers.org), the only non-profit organization in the world that raises and trains capuchin monkeys to provide in home assistance to people living with spinal cord injury or other mobility impairments.
Sierra’s work with Helping Hands inspired the name of Sierra’s publishing company, 21 Monkeys Music. Attendees who offered donations that evening were given a free download card for the EP.
The new recording is creating buzz among media and music fans alike, and caught the attention of Magnet Magazine where fans voted it the release they were most looking forward to last week. Fans can continue to show their support and vote for Hold Your Fire by clicking here.
Hold Your Fire also nabbed a coveted spot on last week’s AOL Music CD Listening Party, where fans could listen to the entire EP for free. The spotlight put her in company with notable acts such as Yellowcard and Kottonmouth Kings.
“In Your Hands,” the first single off the EP, is slated to hit adult alternative radio stations around the country this month.
The EP, produced by drummer/producer Lorne Entress at Signature Sounds studio in Connecticut, is being released via Sierra’s label 21 Monkeys. Three of the five songs on the EP were penned by Sierra at one of the “Writing It Up In The Garden” artist retreats hosted several times a year by Nerissa Nields, a member of the folk band The Nields.
Hold Your Fire is available for purchase on iTunes, Amazon, and CDBaby.
