Stacking Up Rave Reviews During its 2012-2013 Tour, the Hit Production
Kicks off the New 2013-2014 Theatre Season Tour September 3
at the Capitol Theatre in Yakima, Washington
Wrapping their wildly successful 2012-2013 U.S. Broadway Season Theatre Tour, “Sandy Hackett’s Rat Pack Show” left audiences jumping to their feet with nostalgic smiles of the unforgettable entertainers Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr. and Joey Bishop.
Following the show at the Palace Theatre in Albany, Event Chairman Jeff Sperber said to the producers, “For our Gala Event, we had no idea that your performance would turn out to be the highlight of the area’s entertainment year! From five minutes in, the audience was captivated by the talent, energy and professionalism that you all brought to the stage. I can’t say it any better than to state that the mayor of the city (Jerry Jennings) proclaimed the evening as ‘the best show he has ever seen!’ We can’t thank you enough, not only for the wonderful show but also for displaying the utmost in class as to how you received and engaged the entire Capital Region audience. We are already planning your return to the Palace Theatre!”
Peter Landsdowne of the Telegram & Gazette in Worcester, Mass. raved about the performance at the Hanover Theatre: “As Joey Bishop, Sandy Hackett was the glue that held the show together. His hilarious stand-up routine had the crowd in stitches, as did his shtick in between songs.” He continues, “Lisa Dawn Miller provided the encore to a standing ovation with a moving version of her father’s “If I Could,” an inspirational song about parent-child relationships that was a nice touch on Mother’s Day.”
The cast also made a huge splash in Atlanta at the Cobb Energy Centre during a five- performance run in March. Robert J. Heller of the Atlanta Cultural Arts Review said, “How could you not really dig this one? Buddy Hackett’s son, Sandy, has brought the Rat Pack back to life with his wife, Lisa Dawn Miller, who is the daughter of songwriter Ron Miller. And it is a sterling tribute to their energy and creativity as well as to the talents of the original members of that Pack.”
Dr. Wilson Trivino of The Backstage Beat in Atlanta praised, “On this night the theatre had the buzz! It was surreal to see them on stage. You really felt like the boys were back in town… Sandy performed as comic Joey Bishop. He had the crowd rolling in the aisles.”
Gearing up for the 2013-2014 U.S. Broadway Theatre Season Tour, “Sandy Hackett’s Rat Pack Show” will make stops in Yakima, Wash. (September 3-7); Bethesda, Md.
