FILM THAT TAKES A DEFINITIVE LOOK AT THE URBAN WAR OF WORDS TO HAVE SPECIAL L.A. SCREENING AT CLUB DIY AT THE DERBY IN HOLLYWOOD, THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 4TH, 9 PM

Q&A WITH FILM EXECUTIVE PRODUCER QUINCY D. JONES III AND DIRECTOR PETER SPIRER TO FOLLOW SCREENING

BEEF, the much anticipated film that deals with the urban war of words will have a special Los Angeles screening, Thursday, September 4th, 9 PM, at Club DIY (Do It Yourself) at The Derby nightclub in Hollywood. The project takes a definitive look at the deep and harsh world of high profile “beefs” among such rap artists as Jay-Z, Nas, 50 Cent, Ja Rule, DMX and others.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with BEEF executive producer Quincy D. Jones III (QD3) and director Peter Spirer. BEEF will be released on DVD September 30th via Image Entertainment.

“The idea and motivation for making Beef came from being close with Tupac,” says Jones. “We did a lot of music together, and when we lost him, I was impacted heavily. That loss inspired me to analyze other beefs in hip hop to show the very real effect these beefs have on the lives of the artists as well as their families.”

The DIY Convention teaches musicians, filmmakers, authors and entrepreneurs to create, promote, protect and distribute independent film, music and books. The Derby is located at 4500 Los Feliz Blvd (at Hillhurst) in Hollywood.
