EMERGING LAS VEGAS-BASED INDIE ROCKERS SZABO EARN A HOLLYWOOD MUSIC IN MEDIA NOMINATION FOR ‘PRETTY GOOD KIDS’ AS THEY HEAD TO

The Four-piece Recently Appeared on KVVU-TV / FOX’s ‘More Access Show’ and KTNV-TV / ABC’s ‘Morning Blend’ in Vegas

Rising indie rockers Szabo (www.szaboband.com) scored their first Hollywood Music In Media Award (HMMA) nomination for the song “Pretty Good Kids” in the Adult Contemporary/AAA category. Szabo and other nominees will be honored at the ceremonies that will take place at the Fonda Theater in Hollywood on Thursday, November 21, 2013. The HMMAs honor music from visual mediums, individuals who create and produce it, and both mainstream and independent musicians from around the globe.

The Vegas-based band is also set to launch a radio campaign for their new EP Get Wasted, with adds expected to hit Triple A and College Radio stations across the country July 22. The four tracks from the EP are promoted by radio veterans Peter Hay and Sali Zeil of Twin Vision.

The band recently celebrated the release of Get Wasted with a special party at Artifice Bar & Lounge following local TV appearances on FOX’s More Access and ABC’s Morning Blend.

Led by charismatic front man Elliot Szabo, the four-piece act has emerged as a powerhouse live band rooted in Sin City in recent years. Their high-octane, raw indie sound is emerging at a time when ’90s rock resurgence is on an upswing, regaining an important foothold in the alternative music market.

The debut EP Get Wasted is a fiery mix of distorted guitars reminiscent of ’90s alt-rock and keyboard and electronic textures synonymous with classic new wave. The creative seeds of the recording were planted months before when Elliot took up a wild challenge to enter songs in a contest sponsored by an indie magazine and subsequently, over the course of the next two weeks, wrote 12 songs while holed up in a local studio.

Szabo’s founding core includes Elliot, bassist Gary Coveney and drummer Austin Perry with the recent addition of keyboardist Andy Vieluf. Get Wasted was recorded and mixed at Battle Born Studios, owned by Vegas-based superstars The Killers.
