EMERGING MICHIGAN-BASED POP SONGSTRESS KANISHA K IS NOMINATED FOR HER FIRST HOLLYWOOD MUSIC IN MEDIA AWARD (HMMA) FOR ‘MY ANOTHER DAY’ – A #5 HIT ON THE FMQB AC40 CHART

Kanisha K‘s uplifting breakout hit “My Another Day” has earned the fast-rising Holland, Mich. based singer (www.kanishakmusic.com) her first Hollywood Music in Media Award (HMMA) nomination.

“My Another Day,” which was a Top 40 hit on the Mediabase A/C chart, was conceived as a healing post-breakup song but adopted by many fans as an anthem about overcoming addiction. It’s the follow-up to her first Top Ten single, “I Found Love (Just In Time For Christmas).”

The infectious track, which reached #5 on the FMQB AC40 Chart alongside superstars like Pharrell Williams, Daughtry, One Direction, Imagine Dragons, Katy Perry and Lorde, received a nod in the Best Pop Song category in the April 2014 Music Genre nominations announced May 7.

The 7th Annual HMMAs will take place Thursday, November 20, 2014 at The Fonda Theatre in Hollywood.  The HMMAs honor music from visual mediums, individuals who create and produce it, and both mainstream and independent musicians from around the globe.

Keeping her explosive career momentum going, Kanisha has been working in the studio with several big guns on two new singles.

She recently teamed up with Grammy winning (and four time nominated) producer Jason Miles for her forthcoming release, “Stupid Boyfriend.”

He and Kanisha hit Jason’s studio, The Clubhouse, in New York City April 14-15 to lay down vocals on the track.

Kanisha has also recently been in Chicago at Soundbank Recording Studios working on another upcoming single “Bring Me Home” with veteran producer and artist in his own right, Larry King, (Soleil Moon, lead vocalist in the Michael Thompson Band & Larry King Orchestra). Kanisha is working with the city’s top musicians including John Blasucci on keyboards, Khari Parker on drums, Lamar Jones on bass and guitarist Chris Siebold.
