LAS VEGAS – Sandy Hackett grew up watching his dad, legendary comic Buddy Hackett, tickle the funny bones of thousands of people packed into Las Vegas showrooms night after night. Now, the co-producer and star of the international hit touring musical “Sandy Hackett’s Rat Pack Show” (www.sandysratpackontour.com) brings “My Buddy” (www.MyBuddyHackett.com) home once again via his critically hailed one many musical comedy show about his dad and the special father-son relationship they shared.

Sandy will be performing “My Buddy” at the Starbright Theatre in nearby Summerlin on Saturday, March 15 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, March 16 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $15 for residents, $18 for non-residents. The Starbright Theatre is located at 2215 Thomas Ryan Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89134. For tickets, call (702) 240-1301.

Sandy will also be performing “My Buddy” the previous week at the Invisible Theater inside the Berger Performing Arts Center in Tucson, on Saturday, March 8 at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m.

Directed by Lisa Dawn Miller, Sandy’s multi-talented wife and partner in Hackett Miller Productions, the show takes the audience on a unique journey that explores the deep bond between father and son. Sharing personal anecdotes, Hackett captures the nuance of his father’s comedic style as he reminisces about the 10 years they spent touring together.

Memories span the early days of Buddy’s career to his skyrocketing success as a movie star and nightclub entertainer to his rule-breaking comedy that broke barriers and paved the way for today’s comedians. While the overall tone is charming and lighthearted, “My Buddy” also uncovers some interesting family drama that transpired after Buddy Hackett passed away in 2003.

Sandy, who premiered the show in January at the Kravis Theatre in West Palm Beach, Florida, is currently working on a book about life with his father (also tentatively called “My Buddy”), which, as a tie-in with the show, will be published later in 2014.

Hackett and Miller have plans to tour “My Buddy” around the U.S. with the eventual goal of finding a home on Broadway or Off Broadway.

“Sandy Hackett’s Rat Pack Show” is the longest running show of its kind, with dozens of national and international appearances and multiple touring casts. A special annual Christmas adaptation runs every holiday season.
