The Music City Based Soul-Rocker
Continues To Receive Overwhelming Praise
On His Debut Rock-Soul Album ‘Shine’ While
Giving Back To His Community

Nashville rising singer/songwriter Sharif Iman continues to “Shine” brighter than ever.  The “Chocolate Soul Child” with a rock n’ roll flair rose to #15* (with a bullet) this week on the FMQB Adult Contemporary Charts with the uplifting title track from his album, now available for purchase on www.sharifiman.com and on iTunes.

Destined to be an anthem, “Shine” has brought Iman (pronounced ee-mon) in the playing field with other notable acts such as Katy Perry, Michael Buble, Bruno Mars, Taylor Swift and Train. The music video for “Shine” can be viewed on YouTube.

The Music City based artist is currently on a national radio tour promoting Shine. During a recent visit to WMEE 97.3FM in Fort Wayne, Ind., the Operations Manager/Music Director Dave Michaels discovered that were from the same town in upstate New York and commented, “Not many superstars come out of Ithaca except for the two of us!”

Iman, who was homeless at one time, enjoys giving back to his community and is active with local non profits. He recently visited the Salvation Army on October 30 in Nashville where he shared his story and played a live acoustic set for participants in their Transitional Housing program.

The inspiring artist is also passionate about his involvement in the Nashville-based Project: AK47, an NGO dedicated to rescuing and restoring the lives of children in Asia, Africa and Latin America who otherwise would only know lives of violence and exploitation. On October 23, he participated in the organization’s Dog Tag Campaign to raise awareness of the child soldiers in Southeast Asia.

Iman recently picked up a Hollywood Music In Media Award (HMMA) nomination for Best Adult Contemporary/AAA Song for the inspiring lead track from Shine.  In its third year, the HMMAs will be held at Hollywood’s world-famous Hollywood & Highland Center on Thursday, November 18 and recognizes excellence in film, television and other visual mediums as well as mainstream and independent artists.
