OTTAWA-BASED POP SINGER
LOLA SPRIGGS PERFORMS THE CANADIAN
NATIONAL ANTHEM ALONG WITH MUSIC
FROM HER CURRENT EP ‘NOBODY BUT YOU’
AT THE NAVAN MEMORIAL ARENA TO
CELEBRATE NAVAN’S 150th ANNIVERSARY
AND KRAFT HOCKEYVILLE
After a stellar performance of the Canadian National Anthem and new music from her latest EP, Nobody But You, On Sunday, January 9, Ottawa-based pop singer-songwriter Lola Spriggs takes time to pose with the City of Ottawa’s new Mayor Jim Watson at the Celebration of Navan’s 150th Anniversary and Kraft Hockeyville Contest.
The Navan Memorial Centre held the Kraft Hockeyville 2011 competition, where four communities won $25,000 while the top one received $100,000 in upgrades to their facility and an National Hockey League pre-season game will be played in the arena in the fall of 2011 with a fun day of activities for everyone to enjoy.
Lola urged all of those in attendance to “vote for Navan” in the competition in porous support of her hometown. In addition, the local celeb donated the proceeds from albums sold to a local family in need.
Spriggs was recently nominated at the Hollywood Music In Media Awards (HMMA) for Best Pop Song (“I Wanna Love You”) and Best Adult Contemporary/AAA Song (“Nobody But You”).
“Nobody But You” also placed in the Top 100 on the USA FMQB’s AC 2010 Year End Chart, just ahead of superstars Uncle Kracker/Kid Rock, Michael Buble and Miley Cyrus.
