Acclaimed Singer-Songwriter Scored Nominations at the 2012 Hollywood Music in Media (HMMA) Awards for Her Adult Contemporary Chart Single ”Your One and Only” And “Lola La Lo”

Ottawa based singer-songwriter Lola Spriggs (www.lolaspriggs.comwraps an explosive 2012 with a  unique and impressive coup: she’s the only Canadian artist to be included on Music Connection Magazine‘s highly coveted Hot 100 Live Unsigned Artists & Bands list of 2012.

Fans in Lola’s hometown can see her perform twice before the year is out at two prominent hotspots. The multi-talented performer is set to play at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 8 at Club Obsession (1575 Saint Laurent Blvd.). The following Friday, December 14, she hits the Mercury Lounge (56 Byward Market Sq.), at 8 p.m. Both clubs are 18+ and cover is $10.

Lola recently earned her third and fourth Hollywood Music in Media (HMMA) nominations for her latest pop/rock single “Your One and Only” (in the Best Adult Contemporary/AAA category) and “Lola La Lo” (Best Pop Song)The 5thannual event took place in Hollywood, California November 15, 2012 at The Fonda Theatre. “Your One and Only” broke into the Top 20 on the U.S. FMQB Adult Contemporary chart earlier this year. In 2010, Lola received nods for Best Pop Song (“I Wanna Love You”) and Best Adult Contemporary/AAA Song(“Nobody But You”).

“I Wanna Love You” received prominent mention in Peter Simpson’s The Big Beat List: 10 Local Songs From 2010, which was published in the Ottawa Citizen. Simpson praised the track’s effervescence and wrote that it could make the “Ottawa area single mom a pop star.” “Nobody But You” also placed in the Top 100 on FMQB’s AC 2010 Year End Chart, just ahead of superstars Uncle Kracker/Kid Rock, Michael Buble and Miley Cyrus.
