 EARNS HER FIRST HOLLYWOOD MUSIC IN MEDIA (HMMA)
 NOMINATION FOR HER MELODIC SINGLE ‘GETTIN’ READY’

Emerging powerhouse vocalist Lexa Raquel (http://lexaraquel.desertsolrecords.com/) is celebrating her 2012 Hollywood Music in Media (HMMA) nomination for Best Pop Song for her infectious new single “Gettin’ Ready.” Lexa and other nominees will contend for top honors at the Fonda Theatre in Hollywood, Calif. on November 15, 2012.

The HMMAs honor music from visual mediums, individuals who create and produce it, and both mainstream and independent musicians from around the globe. Hosting this year’s event is Master Musical Impressionist Greg London; other celebrity presenters include actor Eric Roberts and many more TBA.

“Gettin’ Ready” is the follow up single to the singer/songwriter’s debut “One of a Kind,” which peaked at #9 on the Billboard Hot Singles Sales Chart this summer. The music video is currently featured nationwide at major retailers such as Foot Locker and Forever 21.

Lexa recently landed a coveted endorsement deal with the L.A.-based guitar company Daisy Rock Girl Guitars, which boasts a roster of notable artists such as Avril Lavigne, Miley Cyrus, Norah Jones, The Bangles and Lisa Loeb.

The endorsement follows the 19-year-old’s recent string of successful shows at some of L.A.’s most recognized venues, including The Mint, Molly Malone’s and Whisky A Go-Go, as well as an on-air interview and performance with GVB Radio‘s Tony Sweet.

Steadily building up a following in her hometown of Tucson, Lexa was recently spotlighted in interviews with the local Examiner as well as the Tucson Citizen and Tucson’s Morning Blend. She is also an official NEW! iheartradio.com featured artist.

She will be interviewed by Big Blend Radio on November 2.

Lexa is currently working on her debut album, to be released on Desert Sol Records with renowned Tucson based musicians Kelvin Lewis (also her producer and musical director for live gigs) and guitarist Jonathan Thomas. She also had the opportunity to be coached by former American Idol finalist Crystal Stark.
