GREG LONDON’S GIVING HIS
POP CAREER “EVERYTHING I OWN”!

MASTER MUSICAL IMPRESSIONIST
GOING FOR AC RADIO ADDS FEBRUARY 6
WITH HIS COMPELLING TURN ON
THE CLASSIC BREAD BALLAD

London, Whose Hit Show “Greg London’s Icons”
Is Extended At Harrah’s Reno Through 2010,
Previously Hit FMQB’s AC40 Chart and R&R’s
AC Chart With “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas”

It’s chilly these days up Northern Nevada, where “Greg London’s Icons” was extended  at Harrah’s Reno through August, 2010 by popular demand, but the master musical impressionist (www.gregorylondon.com) is keeping warm in the glow of his budding success as a pop star.

London’s heartfelt, emotionally compelling cover of “Everything I Own,” the David Gates song that was originally a hit for the soft rock group Bread in 1972, is going for adds at AC radio on February 6.

The multi-talented singer, songwriter and performer set the stage for his breakthrough as a pop artist during the 2008 holiday season, when his intimate rendition of the classic “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” was the #2 most added track on FMQB’s AC40 Chart and Radio & Records’ (R&R) AC Chart during the same week.

London is in some exciting company alongside other classic artists who have recorded “Everything I Own”: Olivia Newton-John, Georgie Fame, Boy George, ‘N Sync, Jude, Rod Stewart and Chrissie Hynde, among others. Although the song is frequently interpreted as a romantic love song, Gates actually wrote the song as a tribute to his father after his father died.

Along those lines, when London was in the studio recording the track with producer Eric Colvin—a veteran film composer—his performance was inspired by the memory of a friend of his who passed away at a young age.

“There are so many ways listeners can feel the power of this wonderful song,” says London. “For several generations of listeners, it’s been a classic breakup song, but one that inspires hope because it’s really about missing someone who brought life-changing love to our lives. It makes people think about just how much our loved ones mean to us. David Gates’ lyrics can help us realize just how lucky we have been to have known so many wonderful people in our lives. It’s a song that can truly inspire us to focus on and even strengthen the relationships we sometimes take for granted.”

“Everything I Own” which also features background vocals and guitar contributions by ICONS Musical Director David Zeman of The Rembrandts/Gin Blossoms, who also mixed the track. The track also features famed session singers Arnold McCuller and Kate Markowitz on backing vocals and Vern Monnett, who plays electric guitar for Black Sabbath, Gary Allen and Freddy Fender, on the slide guitar.

“Greg London’s Icons” is now one of the longest running shows ever in Sammy’s Showroom at Harrah’s Reno. Over the years, those who have graced the stage in the historical venue include Aretha Franklin, Patti Page, Rosemary Clooney, Jerry Seinfeld, Bill Cosby, Andy Williams, Dionne Warwick, Bill Maher, Don Rickles, Natalie Cole, Merle Haggard and Loretta Lynn.

Considering his emergence as a pop singer after years of success with his stage show “coming full circle,” a very excited London is looking forward this year to a series of tour dates on his own in between his stints with “Icons.”

The Multiple Award Winning Musical Film Was Written, Directed and Co-produced By Robert Davi (“Die Hard,” “Profiler”) and Stars Chazz Palmenteri and Peter Bogdanovich

Greg London (www.gregorylondon.com) has had a blast these past few years playing the world’s most famous “Icons”—but a bank robbing, doo wop singing “Duke”?

In “The Dukes,” which hits theaters everywhere November 14, the multi-talented musical impressionist—whose hit show “Greg London’s Icons” has been extended at Harrah’s Reno into 2010–harmonizes his way to infamy as part of a long washed up doo-wop group that turns, comically, to a life of crime.

His cohorts are Chazz Palmenteri, two time Academy Award nominee Peter Bogdanovich and renowned character actor Robert Davi (“Die Hard,” “Profiler”), who wrote, directed and co-produced the film.

“The Dukes” has been a huge hit this past year on the independent film festival circuit, snagging numerous major accolades: the Platinum Award for Best Screenplay and Special Jury Award for Best Director, First Feature Film at the Film Festival de la Comedie in Monte Carlo; nominee for Best Film at the Palm Beach International Film Festival; Winner, Prix Coup de Cour at the Festival International L’Alpes d’Hulez; Official Selection, in the Premiere Category, Cinema Rome Festival; Winner of a Special Jury Award for Best Director, First Feature Film and Gold Remi Award for Best Director at the Houston World Fest; Winner, Best Director and Best Producer, at Queens International Film Festival; and Official Selection at the Newport Film Festival.

As the creator and star of “Greg London’s Icons,” one of the longest running shows ever in Reno, the multi-talented musical impressionist spends his evenings channeling some of the greatest musical performers of our time: Buddy Holly, Joe Cocker, Jim Morrison, Bruce Springsteen, ZZ Top, Johnny Cash, Rod Stewart, Tony Bennett, Tom Jones, Tina Turner and Ozzy Osbourne.

The show has been a staple at Harrah’s Reno since a few months after he wrapped his

critically acclaimed two month debut stint at Leicester Square on London’s West End. Unlike most impressionist shows which remain static throughout their run, London updates his storylines and array of characters every six months.

London’s beautifully arranged, intimate rendition of “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” will be released to AC radio stations across the country in mid-October and was recently included in a compilation created by Daybreak Entertainment that is sent out to all major market morning shows.

Produced by veteran film composer Eric Colvin, the track also features the sensual saxophone of contemporary jazz star Warren Hill and backing vocals by famed session and touring singers Arnold McCuller and Kate Markowitz, who have performed together for years with James Taylor.

The first single from the EP to go to AC radio early next year will be announced shortly.

GREG LONDON

MASTER MUSICAL IMPRESSIONIST IS GOING TO HAVE HIMSELF A MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS NOW THAT HIS SHOW “GREG LONDON’S ICONS” HAS BEEN EXTENDED BY POPULAR DEMAND INTO 2010 AT HARRAH’S RENO

The Singer’s Soulful Take On “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas,” Which Features Contemporary Jazz Star Saxman Warren Hill and Two of James Taylor’s Longtime Backing Vocalists, Will Be Hitting AC Radio In Mid-October

Greg London’s (www.gregorylondon.com) about to deck the halls in Reno! If anyone’s going to be having himself a merry little Christmas this year, it’s the master musical impressionist, who is now one of the city’s longest running solo entertainers ever.

The multi-talented singer and musician’s joyfully entertaining, wonderfully schizophrenic musical show “Greg London’s Icons,” which launched its current run in Sammy’s Showroom at Harrah’s Reno in July, 2007, has been extended for a second time by overwhelming demand into 2010. It’s been a staple there since a few months after he wrapped his critically acclaimed and highly popular two month debut stint at the Venue in Leicester Square on London’s West End. Unlike most impressionist shows which remain static throughout their run, London updates his storylines and array of characters every six months.

Now, the high energy entertainer who spends his evenings channeling some of the greatest musical performers of our time–Buddy Holly, Joe Cocker, Jim Morrison, Bruce Springsteen, ZZ Top, Johnny Cash, Rod Stewart, Tony Bennett, Tom Jones, Tina Turner and Ozzy Osbourne, among others–is about to show his romantic side and warm America’s heart this holiday season with his own soulful voice.

His beautifully arranged, intimate rendition of “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” will be released to AC radio stations across the country in mid-October and was recently included in a compilation created by Daybreak Entertainment that is sent out to all major market morning shows.

Produced by veteran film composer Eric Colvin, the track also features the sensual saxophone of contemporary jazz star Warren Hill and backing vocals by famed session and touring singers Arnold McCuller and Kate Markowitz, who have performed together for years with James Taylor.

While “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” is one of the world’s most beloved holiday songs, for London, it was anything but a random choice. About ten years ago, London was starring in a live television Christmas show at The Lodge in Pebble Beach, California. After he performed the song famed record producer Terry Melcher, who was there with his mother, film legend Doris Day, came up to him and said, “My mom thinks you’re incredible and you need to record that song. We’re gonna do it and I’m going to be the producer!”

Melcher passed away in 2004, but London knew that he’d eventually be recording and releasing the song—maybe not with the Beach Boys as backing vocalists as Melcher originally proposed, but still with great passion.

“I knew I was destined to sing this song, which I’ve always admired for its heartfelt sentiment and simple innocence,” he says. “It’s endeared itself to many generations and became very personal when I began singing it to my son Jason. He’s 14 now, but when I sang it, I saw a little boy there looking at me–which is why there are some very soft moments on the track. Warren brings a brilliance to the song with his sax, and I loved working with Arnold, Kate and Eric, who are all masters at what they do. The whole experience in the studio was magical.”

London fans will be glad to know that the magic doesn’t stop December 25. He and Colvin are currently in the studio working on tracks for the singer’s new EP, due sometime in 2009. They have recorded covers of “Cool Change,” “Secret Agent Man” and two classic Bread songs, “Everything I Own” and “Guitar Man.”

The first single from the EP to go to AC radio early next year will be announced shortly.

SHAKEN, BUT NOT DETERRED:
THE ACTOR AND MASTER IMPRESSIONIST
DIDN’T FULFILL HIS LIFELONG DREAM TO BECOME
007, BUT HE GETS EVEN EVERY NIGHT PLAYING
THE NEXT BEST THING–AUSTIN POWERS—
IN HIS MEGA POPULAR STAGE REVUE
“GREG LONDON’S ICONS”

London, Whose Critically Acclaimed Show Played On
London’s West End And Was Recently Extended
By Popular Demand Through November, 2008 At Harrah’s Reno,
Is Currently In The Studio Recording Tracks For His
Upcoming Debut Pop Album

The rich irony of the title of the upcoming James Bond film Quantum of Solace—set to premiere in the U.S. on November 7—isn’t lost on Greg London, (www.gregorylondon.com) who as a bold twentysomething actor back in the late 80s, met the producers of the Bond franchise and actively pursued the role that ultimately went to two film wonder Timothy Dalton.

The master musical impressionist’s solace all these years after being shaken but not deterred is getting to play Britain’s other great super-spy, Austin Powers, every night during his tour de force show amid a colorful parade of pop culture legends in Greg London’s Icons.

London works out his Bond rejection night after night onstage in Sammy’s showroom at Harrah’s Reno, channeling the famed Mike Myers character, classic rockers (Buddy Holly, Joe Cocker, Jim Morrison, Bruce Springsteen, Ozzy Osbourne), female soul singers (Macy Gray, Tina Turner), consummate showmen (Barry Manilow), jazz legends (Louis Armstrong) and even beloved muppets (Kermit The Frog).

The multi-talented singer and musician’s joyfully entertaining identity crisis first wowed the masses with a hit debut stint at Leicester Square on London’s West End before hitting Reno, where his run—which began July 15, 2007–has been extended by overwhelming demand through November 2008.

As London watches Daniel Craig play it supremely cool in his second go round as 007 in Quantum of Solace, he’ll be time traveling in his mind back a few decades and pondering what might have been. The entertainer, whose boyhood wish had always been to be James Bond 007, was repped at the time by ICM (International Creative Management) and it was well publicized that legendary Bond producer Albert R. (“Cubby”) Broccoli was on the lookout for the next actor to play the lead role.

London’s godfather Ronnie Hunt was the trumpeter of the most recognizable coronet piece in English television (Coronation Street) and his grandfather Freddi Coupe performed in the musician’s union out at Pinewood Studios, the legendary facility where the Bond series was based—so London was very familiar with both Pinewood and Broccoli. After harassing his agent to swing an audition to no avail—primarily due to the fact that he was only 26 at the time—he contacted the studio and got through to Barbara Broccoli, who met him in London at the Savoy, humored him at dinner but did not cast him. Undeterred, London stayed up in the middle of the night California time for weeks trying to get through to her and after sending bouquets of very beautiful flowers he got the same response: no.

For London, there’s gold (or Goldfinger) at the end of the rainbow. While Dalton is now the answer to a trivia question, London—whose show some call a modern rock version of “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty”–keeps making history, night after night, in a show with no creative limits that seems destined someday to conquer Las Vegas, Dubai and anywhere else on the planet where people can’t get enough laughter and song.

Quickly expanding his creative horizons, the singer has also been in the studio of late, working on tracks for his upcoming debut pop recording that will soon be released to radio and retail. His producer is David Zeman, the musical director of “Icons” who has worked extensively with such top pop/rock acts as Gin Blossoms and The Rembrandts.

As Austin Powers might say about the way everything worked out for London, “Groovalicious, baby, yeah!”
