SHANE WYATT TEAMS WITH SPECIAL OLYMPICS

FOR WORLD’S LARGEST TRUCK CONVOY AT

CANTERBURY PARK ON OCTOBER 2 & 3

Rising country singer-songwriter Shane Wyatt (www.shanewyatt.com) is teaming up with the Special Olympics of Minnesota for their annual World’s Largest Truck Convoy event at Canterbury Park in Shakopee, MN. The event takes place on Friday, October 2 and Saturday, October 3.

Wyatt and his band will perform for the truckers, athletes and general public at 8 p.m. on October 2. He will then join the truckers at 10 a.m. on October 3, riding in one of the lead semi’s, followed by judging at 11:30 a.m.

Working with the Special Olympics is something that is very personal for me; my wife and I both have family members with intellectual disabilities and we know how much this organization does for families like ours. When I learned about the World’s Largest Truck Convoy, I immediately knew I had to get involved. My Dad, my grandpa and three of my uncles were truckers, and trucker songs have always been a big part of my show. This is just a great event for a great cause,” says Wyatt.

This past summer, Wyatt also spent time meeting with Special Olympics athletes and their families.

The 2008 World’s Largest Truck Convoy was a huge success, raising more than $643,000 for Special Olympics Programs.

Wyatt has had an exciting summer taking the stage with country music’s brightest stars, including the legendary Randy Travis, emerging country group Love and Theft and country music sensation Eric Church, not to mention the superstar line-up at Country Fest.

Wyatt recently released “She Could Do Better” as the third single from his critically-acclaimed independent debut The Last Cowboy.
