***
Sponsored By MusicSupervisor.com, The Event—
Billed As “Speed Dating For Industry Professionals”
Will Feature 15-Minute Performances By Ten
Up and Coming Indie Artists And Bands
To paraphrase a classic song by The Drifters, when this old music business starts getting you down, it’s time to head “Up On The Roof”—more specifically, the Sennheiser Rooftop Industry Mixer at the Speakeasy the evening of Thursday, March 18 during this year’s South By Southwest (SXSW) in Austin.
The Speakeasy is located at 412D Congress Avenue in downtown Austin. The event runs from 7:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.
The exclusive, invitation only showcase for independent artists allows musicians and industry professionals to hear more music and make more contacts in one place and on one night than most people will during all of SXSW. The mixing and mingling takes place in a cool rooftop bar setting where the bands and drinks come to you—a far better alternative than worrying about badges and running from club to club.
The event is sponsored by Music Supervisor.com a comprehensive single site solution for music licensing and creators of the MS Pro; Luck Media & Marketing; UE3 Promotions and NARIP.
Ten up and coming singer/songwriters, bands and solo performers from around the world will participate in a very unique Music Supervisor “Speed Showcase.” Each artist will play a 15 minute set followed by 15 minutes of quiet networking and conversation.
The exciting, stylistically diverse lineup includes acoustic ensembles Ghostbird and He Is We; The Bob Hill Band; Austin’s own Kris Kimura Quartet (alternative jazz and swing); Melbourne, Australia based singer/songwriter Scott Mellis (raw acoustic soul); L.A. based Pasheen (avant-garde jazz and soul); Las Vegas rock powerhouse Theory of Flight; Bay Area’s four-piece melodic rock band Picture Me Broken; Detroit’s award winning songstress Susan Calloway; pop-rock singer songwriter Christa Borden and NYC’s mega-theatrical funk metal band King Hell.
From Noon to 6 p.m. March 18, Music Supervisor.com is also hosting a Music Supervisor Boot Camp for those interested in learning the ropes of professional music supervision for film and television.
Music Supervisor.com is a dual service company providing music supervisors and licensing professionals with all the tools and information needed to aid them in becoming more efficient and effective.
